Moving guests between Malé and Hulhumalé

When a bus is worth it, and when taxis are enough.

By Atoll desk

If more than thirty guests need to cross the lagoon the same hour, a bus is usually cheaper than a pile of taxis and much kinder to your aunties.

Book the bus for a single pickup point near a mosque or ferry, not twelve house doors. Print the time on the invite and put it on the wedding site. Hulhumalé Phase 1 halls are easier for buses than tight Malé lanes. If the reception is a family house courtyard, taxis and a shared WhatsApp pin are enough.

Whatever you choose, assign one cousin to the door with a clipboard. Transport fails when nobody owns the last five metres from the curb to the hall.
